A county staff member said the food pantry would pay for flat concrete to replace a deteriorated raised bed at the pantry entrance, a change board members indicated they supported as it would improve drainage and access. The board did not require a formal motion for the pantry to proceed but asked staff to confirm property corners and boundaries before work begins.
Separately, supervisors spent substantial time on an ongoing water issue at the building. Speakers described a curb-stop that could not be turned by the city water crew and a meter configuration that made it unclear which tenants were being served. Board members noted the county may be paying water for adjacent building space if the plumbing is connected; staff said they were still investigating whether a single meter currently serves multiple tenants and would follow up with city staff to resolve account ownership and billing.
The board also discussed tenant use of a small kitchenette/break area (used by Spectrum) and whether certain spaces should be treated as Spectrum’s area rather than common space. Board members suggested potential interior reconfiguration to create office space for the food pantry if needed; the pantry indicated willingness to pay for additional square footage.
Supervisors agreed to add this item to a future agenda to obtain updated information on the water bills, tenant boundaries and any proposed interior changes before taking formal action.
