The Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors voted to approve the county's action on the Newmark (Weimar) dairy matrix application and to forward the paperwork to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. A supervisor moved to approve the action and another seconded. During the voice vote one supervisor stated, “I'm just gonna abstain,” and the clerk announced the motion passed. The meeting record indicates the motion carried.
Supervisors did not attach additional conditions during the meeting. Staff will include any public comments received before sending the county's response to the DNR.
