The commission voted on Nov. 12 to table a proposed amendment to Chapter 16 of the Sunrise Land Development Code that would create a review and approval process for certified recovery residences and a pathway for reasonable accommodations under state law. Staff (city manager) asked for the continuance so the item could return on Dec. 9 with additional work; the commission approved the motion to table.
City staff stated the item would be continued for further review and public notice; commissioners and staff agreed to the December date. No substantive changes to the ordinance were adopted at the Nov. 12 meeting; the item remains pending and will reappear on the commission agenda for further debate and possible action.
