Priceville council approves equipment purchases, park electrical upgrades and community payments

The Priceville Town Council approved a series of purchases and payments during its meeting, including a $57,557.61 purchase of a trailer-mounted vacuum excavator from Vermeer through the Sourcewell cooperative, to be paid from the sewer fund.

Speaker 6 moved the motion to buy the Vermeer excavator and said the purchase would come from sewer funds; Speaker 1 explained that buying through Sourcewell satisfies the competitive-bid requirement because Sourcewell is an established purchasing cooperative. "We're buying it through Sourcewell, which is already a purchasing cooperative," Speaker 1 said.

The council also approved a payment of $8,877 to Dobbs and Company Electrical Contractors to upgrade power at the town park to support vendors and increased event needs, and a $200 payment to the Priceville High School band for its participation in the upcoming Veterans Day program.

Speaker 2 requested approval to purchase an iPad for a council member (referred to in the transcript as Councilman Bonnie Williams) and the council approved that request. The council also approved paying $179 each for two officers — named in the transcript as Officer Lucas Farrell and Officer Gary Chapman — to take a law-enforcement vehicle operation liability-awareness class.
