The task force discussed the Youth Advocacy Award at its Nov. 20 meeting and agreed on a proposed schedule for the award cycle.
Chair Bridal Rodriguez described the award as recognition for a high school senior’s advocacy and volunteer work. Members proposed opening the application period in January, closing it in March, holding selection and voting in April, and presenting the award in May — aligning the presentation with end-of-school recognition. Haley volunteered to prepare and distribute the application and to coordinate plaque procurement and presentation logistics.
Members also discussed award details including plaque design (name, award title, class-of designation) and funding for the plaque from the committee budget. The task force did not record a formal vote to finalize the timeline; members asked Haley to circulate the application draft and to report updates at the next meeting.
