The committee approved a recommended limited‑term conservation easement between Milwaukee Public Schools, the City of Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District at the Oct. 23 meeting.
Michael Turza, interim chief operations officer, described the item as routine: MMSD requests use of portions of school grounds for stormwater and water‑flow projects; MMSD would install the improvements and the district would maintain them throughout the easement term. Turza said the easement term discussed at the meeting was 11 years.
Director Herndon moved approval of the administration’s recommendation; the committee voted three ayes and the motion passed.
Next steps: staff to coordinate with city and MMSD on implementation timelines and any necessary maintenance planning.
