Resident urges airport economic development after planning grant

Council member Coleman praised Hightower’s grant as part of state funding and asked staff to convene a meeting with Hightower to discuss opportunities on parcels at the airport.
Hightower framed general aviation airports as small industrial parks with potential for small manufacturing and said he has been flying and working at airports for decades. The comment drew brief council recognition and a direction that staff follow up with the resident to explore development and leasing options at municipal airport properties.
