Mayor Joe Stapleton presented a proclamation at the Nov. 4 study session recognizing National Nurse Practitioner Week in Newport Beach and thanked Carol Cunningham, California state liaison for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, for attending.
Stapleton read the proclamation citing the role of nurse practitioners in expanding health care access, promoting health equity and diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions. "I, Joe Stapleton, the mayor of the city of Newport Beach, on behalf of the entire city council, do hereby proclaim National Nurse Practitioner Week in Newport Beach," he read.
Carol Cunningham accepted the proclamation on behalf of California members of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and thanked the council.
