The Berkeley County Commission approved a use agreement with Blackbird Movie LLC that permits the company to film scenes at the county’s historic courthouse during the December–January timeframe, after county legal counsel prepared a contract staff said covers county interests.

Staff described the agreement as a standard use contract that requires signature by both the production company and the county. Commissioners expressed enthusiasm for the production and recalled previous local productions that brought economic activity to the area.

The motion to authorize staff to finalize and sign the use agreement passed by voice vote. Commissioners noted the county’s prior engagement with the state film office and local efforts to attract production activity as part of broader economic-development outreach.
