Several residents used the public-comment portion of the Retag Committee meeting to press for action on trail access and conditions, particularly on North Bridal where rock is present and on trail connectivity near 100th/161st and C Road. The chair said the concerns would be added to the next meeting agenda so staff could provide a fuller update.

Town staff reported that crews had begun clearing Norgrove Trail and that work at the 160/161st area — including sodding and swale work — was near completion, with final sod placement expected imminently. Staff described planned gate replacements, proposed gaps to prevent animal crossing at some gates, and extensions of pipe and trail sections to link existing corridors. The staff presentation included a map showing trail corridors, canal-bank routing and connections to nearby college property and other nodes.

Committee members and public commenters discussed constraints to expanding trails: some parcels and easements are controlled by other entities (the transcript references Seminole Improvement District and the City of Westlake), and residents noted liability concerns related to using those properties. Staff recommended future discussions with those bodies to pursue shared-use or lease arrangements and noted that some homeowners have refused to grant easements, which limits trail continuity in parts of town.

The meeting also reviewed sample trail signage. Staff said they had purchased five sample signs and had already installed signs at locations including North Road and Lakeside Drive; the committee authorized staff to proceed with production and placement as needed, asking members to provide requested placement points.
