Trustee Wandrasek read a proclamation at the Nov. 24 Barrington Village Board meeting commending the Barrington High School girls cross country team for winning the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) 3A state championship at Detwiler Park in Peoria on Nov. 8, 2025.

The proclamation listed the team roster, noted the team finished with a low score of 144 points, and named head coach Deb Rivolta and assistant coaches Emily Moore and Dan Lowry. President Mike Moran and trustees congratulated the athletes and invited them forward for photos.

Trustee comments were celebratory and brief. The proclamation and photographs were conducted before the public-comment portion of the meeting, per the board's agenda modification. The board recessed from formal business briefly to recognize the team and then proceeded to the scheduled public-comment session.
