Speaker 3 updated the committee on a recent LWCF (Land and Water Conservation Fund) pre-assessment and on steps needed before dredging or major construction.

Speaker 3 said the LWCF representative told the town the program could support up to $1,000,000 in project costs (with LWCF covering roughly 50% of eligible costs if the grant is awarded). "So in the grant, if we will have the award, you could if you spent 1,000,000 in the project and you got the full reward, yeah, I mean, they just they probably got it. They'd spend they'd cover 50% of that," Speaker 3 said. The committee discussed whether to move the playground back to the tree line to free up additional green space and how lighting and pavilions could be folded into a multi-phase build-out.

On dredging the beach, Speaker 3 said they are waiting for state confirmation about whether sand may be returned to the lake and what permitting is required. Committee members noted that dredged sand would likely need screening before re-use to remove organics and that state guidance will be filed before any work begins. The group asked staff to gather the state response and to report permit and timing details at a future meeting.
