The board voted to appoint Benjamin Cummings to a three-year term on the Region 5 planning commission (term beginning Jan. 1, 2026 and ending Dec. 31, 2029) after a contested roll-call vote against Bill Hamilton. Commissioners cast roll-call votes to indicate their choice before affirming the appointment.

For the district library board, the board unanimously voted to appoint Chris Van Bell to a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Several residents and applicants had spoken in support of Perry Valley and other candidates during the public comment period, and commissioners thanked applicants for their willingness to serve.

Next steps: Appointees will be notified and scheduled to begin their terms on Jan. 1, 2026, and the clerk will reflect appointments in board records.
