Mayor Ron Anders said the pause will give staff time to study traffic, sewer, stormwater and zoning implications before further approvals are considered. "This will allow the staff to study traffic, sewer, stormwater, and zoning, and make sure that we are prepared for Auburn's future," Anders said.
Council members did not specify amendments or an immediate replacement ordinance; the mayor said staff will use the moratorium period to gather data and return recommendations. The moratorium is effective for 12 months from adoption; the city did not state a follow-up meeting date for the study results during the minutes.
