Trenton held an inauguration ceremony and brief swearing-in Nov. 24, 2025, where three council members took the oath of office and offered short remarks before the body reconvened for its regular meeting.
Madam Clerk administered the oaths and asked each official to repeat the constitutional pledge. "I solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of the United States and the constitution of this state and I will faithfully perform the duties of councilman/councilwoman," the newly sworn members repeated as family members and colleagues watched. After the oath, council recessed at 5:59 p.m. for photos, refreshments and a short break before the 7:04 p.m. regular meeting.
Councilwoman Rodriguez thanked voters and supporters: "I'd like to thank all the voters for coming out... I'm excited for this next term." Councilman Benedetti similarly thanked residents and local officials for their support and said he hoped the council would continue working together on community priorities. The mayor moved to excuse Councilwoman Von Crooks later in the evening; the motion carried unanimously.
The ceremony was largely ceremonial in tone; council returned to routine business after the adjournment for the inauguration portion. The meeting record shows no formal contest over the swearing or seating of members; the body proceeded to regular agenda items following the photo period.
