The Uintah County Commission approved a 12-month contract with SML Strategic LLC to provide services for the county attorney's office, pretrial services and the criminal justice center.

Attorney Anderson presented the contract, which the record lists at $139,800 for the contract period (approximately $11,650 per month). He said the money for the contract is in the budget and comes from a state grant. Jamie Thomas, identified as county attorney during the meeting, told commissioners the contract covers countywide services and that the grant administrator had previously encouraged hiring a county employee but approved the contract as allowable under the grant as submitted.

The commission moved to approve the contract and voted in favor by voice. Staff said terms are substantially the same as a prior contract signed earlier in the year aside from dates and the contract amount.
