County engineer Nate told commissioners the county received multiple bids for bridge work and recommended moving forward with contracts and quote acceptances for 2026 preventive maintenance.
For Bridge 105 (County Road 0/North of 300 South), Nate presented a bid tab and asked permission to issue a notice of intent to award to the low bidder so contract documents and bonding can be completed. Commissioners accepted the engineer’s recommendation and authorized issuing the notice of intent to award.
Nate also presented low quotes for small-structure pipe purchases for 2026 and requested approval to place orders using available 2025 budgeted funds. Commissioners accepted the low bidders and authorized the purchases so the county can secure lower prices and leave installation flexibility for 2026.
On bridge joint repairs, quotes were solicited for seven bridges, and Pioneer submitted the low responsive bids across the set. The board accepted the quotes and authorized awards to the lowest responsive bidders to proceed with the budgeted joint repairs in spring 2026.
Nate noted Bridge 73 (Salem Road) was recently poured by Milestone, with galvanic anodes used to address rebar corrosion; he said barricades and protective blankets have been removed and the road may now be open to traffic.
Commissioners asked for contract documents, bonds and notices of proceed once those items are assembled for execution.
