Phil Gents presented the Discover Cottage Grove (CVB) final budget for 2026 at the Nov. 25 board meeting and asked the board to approve the worksheet included in the meeting packet.

Gents said the 2026 revenue projection is $101,950 and budgeted expenses total $109,449.99, creating a gap of $7,499.98. He said the shortfall can be covered by the remaining fund balance of $65,440 or by reducing expenditures. He summarized key revenue assumptions including lodging tax projections based on a 63% occupancy rate (about $71,500 annually), visitor-guide ad sales ($4,500), the Food Truck Festival ($15,900 in marketplace vendor fees and $8,000 from sponsorships), and a $2,000 Explore Minnesota tourism grant.

Gents asked for approval and the board moved, seconded and approved the Cottage Grove CVB 2026 final budget by voice vote.

Gents said staff will reconcile the final number with the remaining fund balance or by identifying expenditure reductions as needed.
