Staff presented the draft 2026 Cottage Grove visitor guide and asked the board to approve printing 7,000 copies.
Courtney (staff) said the guide is a 24-page, full-color booklet that emphasizes local attractions, sample itineraries and scannable QR codes linking to booking and business pages. The guide incorporates staff and resident photography rather than stock images; staff procured two local print quotes and recommended Graphic Design Inc. to print 7,000 copies for $6,286.
Courtney said the guide will include six confirmed ad placements totaling $3,010 and that pricing had been solicited for print runs of 6,000–8,000 copies; last year’s order was 7,000. The board moved, seconded and approved the printing contract by voice vote.
Courtney asked for board input on branding and noted staff will not distribute the guide until the board reviews the final proof. Directors praised the personalized photography and local printing quotes and asked about inclusion of nearby attractions where ad placements applied. Courtney said out-of-city mentions with logos reflect paid advertising placements.
