Jamie Mann presented a recap of the Sept. 13 Cottage Grove Food Truck Festival at Kingston Park during the Nov. 25 board meeting.
Mann said 35 food trucks registered and 34 attended after one vehicle broke down. Staff estimated total attendance between 13,000 and 15,000 people and reported $14,000 in truck registration revenue. Sponsorships and marketplace vendor fees added revenue: Mann said paid sponsorships brought in about $6,500 and marketplace vendor booths (27 total) generated roughly $3,000.
After paying expenses, Mann said the event netted just over $4,900 (staff had estimated $2,900 earlier). He said that surplus will be returned to the CVB budget for future marketing activities. Mann also explained staff reduced the event’s closing hour to 6 p.m. (from 7 p.m. the previous year) to ease vendor cleanup and because it gets dark earlier.
Board members asked about vendor caps and hours; Mann said there is currently no cap on marketplace vendors and that outreach efforts are ongoing to recruit more vendors. The presentation closed with board praise for the marketplace growth and discussion of hours.
