During the public forum the council heard community updates celebrating recent and upcoming projects.
Brenda invited the mayor and council to the Sierra Heights project groundbreaking, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 09:30, and said the city might offer a short bus tour to view a similar project in Boone prior to occupancy. She also announced Nevada s Oak Park Estates project was selected for a 2025 Alliance Community Impact Award and encouraged the city to promote the recognition regionally.
Emily Schack, executive director of Main Street Nevada, thanked council members and highlighted downtown accomplishments: a wayfinding-sign program, a new gathering patio in the alley, and a downtown mural completed this year. Schack said private investment in the downtown district has reached $3,000,000 and that the town hosted more than 10,000 visitors for the Wall That Heals event. She outlined 2026 goals to increase visitor spending and to reenergize the farmer s market and public arts efforts.
Council closed the public forum after the comments and moved on to the regular agenda.
