At its Nov. 17 meeting the CHSD 128 board approved a slate of routine and specific action items following committee review earlier in the month.
The consent agenda was moved and adopted by roll call. Trustees then approved additional employment appointments submitted post-committee, a memorandum of agreement on campus safety, and contracted Allegion to perform a security and emergency planning assessment for $11,000. "This is a great firm, and I know we're gonna get a really great report out of this," a trustee said before the roll call.
The board also approved course proposals and revisions for the 2026–27 school year, following earlier program and personnel committee discussion. Trustees then authorized application for a FY26 school maintenance project grant: the grant provides $50,000 in matching funds; administration explained the district must select a project not yet started (the Vernon Hills High School pool air-handler is on the summer 2026 capital list) and that approving the grant does not obligate immediate construction.
Each action was approved on roll call with "Aye" votes recorded for trustees present; Member Middleash was noted absent. The board later moved to adopt the 2025 tax levy in a separate vote.
No contract award numbers beyond the Allegion assessment figure and the grant amount were provided in the public record at the meeting.
