Oxford City Council adopted the consent agenda and approved a package of resolutions and ordinances during its regular meeting.
Resolutions approved by council included a road maintenance agreement with the Butler County Board of County Commissioners tied to an annexation near the Miami Airport; acceptance of a bid for replacement and upsizing of the High Street water main; acceptance of a DWA Recreation bid for a CDBG-funded playground replacement at Oxford Community Park (not to exceed $112,043); authorization to purchase a Tiny Mobile Robots unit under a three-year installment plan after a previously planned grant match was no longer available; authorization to sign an amended legal-services agreement with Coolidge Wall Company LPA; and authorization for the city manager to apply for and, if awarded, accept a State Homeland Security Grant in the amount of $353,500 for barriers and detectors.
On the ordinance side, council conducted second readings and adopted several FY2026 budget measures: an appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending 12/31/2026, an ordinance outlining budgeted advances, an ordinance outlining budgeted transfers, an ordinance adopting fees and charges for FY2026, and an ordinance establishing salaries and certain benefits for FY2026. In the salaries ordinance, staff noted two specific adjustments: an addition of 9,000 part-time firefighter hours to provide flexibility in staffing and a correction to a pay band for a new water operator position.
Council took voice votes or roll-call votes as required and adopted the items. Staff will follow up with required contracts, grant-acceptance documents and implementation schedules as appropriate.
