The Henry County Planning Commission recommended approval of a rezoning request for two partial parcels in Caitlin Lake Estates, moving them from A1 (agriculture) to R1 (residential). The commission heard a brief presentation from a local resident who said the owner intends to sell the two lots to a developer that has already built nearby homes.
Commissioners asked about lot sizes, subdivision status and utilities; the presenter said the lots are roughly quarter-acre parcels, the subdivision has sewer service, and recent development around the area included 14 houses built in the past year. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing.
After discussion a planning commission member moved to approve the rezoning and a member identified as “Dale” seconded the motion. The clerk read a roll-call: Kennan Gray, Dale (yes), Marcia Gratner, Steve Dellinger, Jason Roberts and Terry Matney voted in favor; David Fisher voted no; Sheldon Dines voted yes. The chair said the recommendation was approved and will be forwarded to the county commissioners for final action.
The approval is a recommendation only; the county commissioners will review the planning commission’s favorable recommendation and the submitted materials before making any final determination.
