The board approved a contract to continue work with Jay Casas & Associates on leadership and climate consulting across district schools.
Unidentified Speaker 2 recommended renewing the contract, saying principals requested continued services. The contract covers work from January through August and would expand support to six schools, multiple directors and central-office staff; the initial year cost was presented as $49,500 with year-two costs of about $47,000 and payment coming from Title I funds. "We've had lots of great experiences with them," the presenter said, describing leadership systems work, strategic planning and principal-focused sessions.
Unidentified Speaker 29 asked how long the district had worked with the consultant and requested examples of services; the presenter said last year was the first year and described keynote and follow-up leadership work. After discussion a motion to approve was made, seconded and the board approved the contract on a roll-call vote of 7-0.
The board noted that another consultant used in 24-25 will end and that the district is watching fiscal prudence while continuing professional development investments.
Action: motion to approve contract with Jay Casas & Associates carried 7-0.
