Commissioners approve county government center rehabilitation contract, local paving bids and commit local match for Community Crossings grant

He reported Kevco Construction LLC as the low bidder, noting the transcript-recorded figures: a base bid stated as 455,345 and an alternative at 73,680 (the combined total was read aloud in the meeting as '529 and $25'). The board moved, seconded and approved accepting Kevco as the low bidder.
Creevy then reviewed the 2026 Community Crossings application (application #14759), asking the board to commit a local match of $989,879 toward an estimated total project cost that was presented in the meeting as 1,000,979.757; he read a list of 22 road segments proposed for the program. The board voted to authorize the financial commitment letter for the grant application; staff said paving would likely begin in spring if the grant is awarded.
The board also approved bids for the 2025 local paving project (2025-2), accepting Mac Construction as low bidder for work bid on October 7. Creevy said staff will publish the road lists and scheduling information.
All motions on the infrastructure items passed by voice vote.
