The North Penn School District Board of School Directors voted on [date of meeting] to accept the immediate resignation of Board President Kathy McMurtry and began the public process to fill the vacant seat.
Superintendent Dr. Bauer opened the meeting with a tribute to three outgoing directors — Tina Stoll, Jonathan Casa and Christian Fusco — thanking them for eight years of service and listing accomplishments that included expansions in full‑day kindergarten, facility renovations and added student supports. "On behalf of the administration, our staff, and the entire North Penn community, I wanna thank Jonathan, Christian, and Tina for their leadership and dedication," Dr. Bauer said.
The board moved and approved a motion to accept President McMurtry’s resignation. Multiple members spoke in appreciation of McMurtry’s leadership and years of service.
District staff outlined the appointment process required by law for filling a midterm vacancy. Candidates must submit a resume, a letter of interest and a completed Pennsylvania ethics form to Board Secretary Miss Todd by Dec. 1; interviews will be held in public at the Dec. 10 board meeting. The board noted it must act on a candidate within 30 days of the resignation.
Board members said they will include the three newly elected directors in the review and interview process once they are seated. The board did not announce a preferred candidate at the meeting.
Next steps: the district will post the vacancy and application instructions on its website and accept materials through Dec. 1; interviews are scheduled for the Dec. 10 public meeting.
