At its Nov. 20 meeting, the Glynn County Board of Commissioners amended the published agenda to defer a land-abandonment item and to add two consent items: an appointment to the Islands Plains Commission and authorization for a grant signatory.

Commissioner (Speaker 6) moved to defer agenda item AB-24-2 — an application to consider abandonment of an improved dairy at 1629 Bruce Drive (parcel 04-03273) on St. Simons Island — citing staff requests for additional information; the board approved the deferral. The same commissioner proposed and the board approved adding item 13.1 to appoint Brent Bearden to fill the unexpired District 1 term on the Islands Plains Commission, with the term to begin immediately and expire 12/31/2028.

Commissioner (Speaker 6) also moved to add item 13.2, authorizing the chair to sign Court and Criminal Justice Commission (CJCC) letters designating Judy Dunnington as the county’s authorized financial signatory for a Project Safe Neighborhood award and a CACJ Drug Court Operating Grant; the board approved the authorization. The board then approved the full consent agenda for general business and the finance consent agenda with no items pulled.

The meeting proceeded to scheduled zoning and land-use items after the consent approvals.
