At the start of the meeting, Judge Adesadi administered the oath of office and an oath of confidentiality to Selena Chen and Enya Yuan, who formally joined the San Mateo County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission.
The commission then discussed outreach and prevention planning: commissioners are conducting a school‑district liaison initiative to introduce the commission to all 23 county school districts. The commission confirmed the Schools, Communities, and Youth Voices Prevention & Action conference on Jan. 7, 2026 at College of San Mateo; the college waived facility fees for the Bayview Dining Room. Planning committee work includes workshop topics, a youth panel, and community‑organization exhibits; the commission reported a $2,500 sponsorship donation from Archrock Jones.
Administrative items: the commission approved August and September minutes and agreed to postpone officer elections to the next meeting so nominations can be finalized.
Next steps: commissioners asked staff to circulate conference materials to members and invited sponsors and community partners to participate; they will present an update to the Board of Supervisors in December.
