Glenn (host and development director, self-identified) used the opening of the Bugs and Brews lecture to make fundraising announcements and thank a sponsor. He recognized Draftworks for donating beverages to the lecture series since 2016 and invited the audience to wave as a sign of thanks.
Glenn promoted "Bug Appetite," a five-course meal with an insect component on each course scheduled for Halloween; he said ticket sales close the next business day to give the chef time to prepare. He also described a raffle for a one-week stay at the Park Plaza Resort (check-in Feb. 21, check-out Feb. 28), noting the unit is a two-bedroom, three-bath condo that sleeps six to eight people. Raffle tickets are $50 each and Glenn said organizers are selling only 100 tickets and that the drawing would be held Oct. 5.
At the end of the evening Glenn announced the next Bugs and Brews date would be Dec. 3 (moved for room availability) and previewed a talk by Dr. Scott Dednam on Hymenoptera and honeybees, encouraging attendees to watch for ticket sales.
These announcements were framed as fundraising and community engagement activities tied to the insectarium's programming and volunteer support; no formal vote or budget action was recorded at the event.
