At the Nov. 19 meeting the Alamo Heights Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda by voice vote after a trustee moved and another seconded; the chair declared the motion carried. During the consent discussion a trustee noted the district had received about $67,000 in donations that month. (SEG 575–SEG 601.)
Committee reports followed. The building committee said it reviewed LPA fees tied to the DCC and Alamo Heights Junior School projects and is pausing design engagement for a Broadway project until the district clarifies pricing and scope. (SEG 616–SEG 633.)
The safety and security committee, which met Nov. 11, reported that most of the meeting was in executive session; the open‑session item described a planned reunification tabletop exercise for administrators to be led by the district’s new safety and security coordinator (Chief Ray) in early spring. (SEG 635–SEG 656.)
The audit committee reported that Armstrong Vaughn and Associates presented the audit and issued a clean opinion with no material findings; trustees were offered the audit document for review. (SEG 666–SEG 676.)
The district’s foundation and DIAC updates included several fundraising figures: the teacher fund ('Heroes for Heights') has nearly 250 monthly donors, described in the meeting as producing approximately $400,000 in annual recurring revenue; the Foundation’s Greater Heights Night grossed about $1,092,000 on a budget of roughly $180,000, leaving a net described as "just over $900,000." Foundation leaders said they are planning broader alumni events in Texas to support an upcoming $10,000,000 endowment campaign. (SEG 680–SEG 800.)
The board received a superintendent/administrative update highlighting Veterans Day programming, teacher recognitions (Valero Alamo awards), bond and capital‑project photos and timing, portables being installed at Woodridge, and athletic‑facility work (turf installed in batting cages and bullpen; shade structures and resurfacing underway). The superintendent noted staff will begin moving some classrooms into portables after Thanksgiving to enable construction timelines. (SEG 818–SEG 959.)
Following a short break the board recessed to an executive session. (SEG 975–SEG 981.)
