Lawrence City officials in a brief evening meeting approved a task order to advance a water main replacement project and passed a sanitary sewer billing adjustment, along with routine minutes and claims.

The superintendent presented a task order for water main work with engineering services for a not-to-exceed $342,000. The project area described included East 46th Street, 42nd Street, Roses of Lawrence and the segment of East 46th Street between Midhofer Road and Topaz Lane, around the 46th and Post Road corridor. The superintendent summarized the task order’s scope as meetings and coordination, project management, utility identification and coordination, topographical survey, water main design, regulatory approvals and the bid phase. "Tonight, we are seeking approval of task order number 26 for the water main replacement project with Westwood Engineering for a not to exceed amount of $342,000," the superintendent said.
