City staff presented the results of a flash survey of the 2025 Harvest Festival during the Nov. 25 meeting, reporting 156 total participants between Oct. 30 and Nov. 5. The survey asked attendees about their experience at the new Library & Adams location, and staff summarized both quantitative responses and open-ended suggestions.
According to staff, 59% of respondents said they attended this year and also had attended in past years. When asked about location preference, 43 respondents preferred the Adams & Library location while about 25% preferred the former Oak Avenue location; 11% said they were unsure. Attendees ranked shade, seating and comfort areas, vendor mix/food options and music/entertainment among top priorities.
Staff read contributions from open-ended responses, including suggestions for a large tent across Adams and Library, a pet parade, local bands, and community storytelling. Ashley Sylvester, acting director of community services, said staff will review feasibility for major suggestions and noted after-action reports and departmental coordination used to refine planning.
Separately, Sylvester invited council and the public to a Hunt Avenue barrel tree lighting scheduled for the next day, with activities beginning at 5 p.m., live music shortly after and special guests including one traveling from Saint Helena and Santa arriving by fire truck.
