The Village of Morton Grove Board of Trustees on Nov. 25 approved the municipality’s 2026 budget, adopted a property tax levy and passed a slate of ordinances, resolutions and contract renewals during a meeting that followed an extended public-comment period on immigration enforcement protections.
Budget and levy
- Ordinance 25-31 (adopting the budgets for the Village and the Morton Grove Library for the 2026 calendar year) passed on second reading by roll-call vote with all present trustees recorded as "Aye." The ordinance is effective Jan. 1, 2026.
- Ordinance 25-32 (levy ordinance) established the amounts to be levied for 2025 taxes collected in 2026: $12,660,061 for village operations, $657,963 for village debt service and $4,045,637 for the library, yielding a combined levy of $17,363,661; the board recorded a unanimous roll-call vote to adopt the ordinance.
