Brooke Summerfield reported to the Ways and Means Committee that the county clerk's office has launched "Clerking on the Move," a community outreach effort to provide on-site clerking services and to help residents navigate county resources.
"We have already gone to, 2 locations or 2 stops are what we call them. We have been to Elmwood Public Library and, Brimfield Public Library, and the turnout has been absolutely great," Summerfield said. She listed upcoming stops: Chillicothe Library on Dec. 3 and "Lily m Evans in Princeville, Illinois" on Dec. 12. Summerfield said the outreach uses the county website and app, and that staff distribute flyers to the libraries to publicize events.
Committee members asked how residents are notified; Summerfield said schedules are posted on the county website, the county app and the libraries post flyers and announcements. She noted staff frequently field questions distinguishing the county clerk's office from the circuit clerk's office and use the events to guide residents to online resources.
The initiative was presented as informational; no committee action was requested or recorded.
