The Richland County Natural Resources Committee approved three small parcel rezonings during its meeting.

Planning staff described the first petition as a 0.6-acre split from an existing farm for Thomas Neade that would convert the parcel from Ag Forest to residential; staff said a house and septic already exist on the lot and a temporary CSM has been submitted. Committee members confirmed the remainder parcel will remain greater than 35 acres and voted to approve the rezoning.

A second petition described an 8-acre parcel created by an earlier certified survey map (CSM) for Martin and Trudy Kenyan; staff said the owners are retaining more than 35 acres and that the township had unanimously approved the rezoning on Nov. 13. Floyd, the township representative, confirmed the township vote. The committee approved the rezoning by voice vote.

The final petition under the item was a roughly 2.44-acre split to detach a rental house from an owner’s larger parcel to streamline future sales and clarify road access. Staff said the split clears title and provides direct roadway access; the committee approved that petition as presented.

All three motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records standard voice-roll calls of "all those in favor say, aye" with no recorded opposition or roll-call tallies in the committee minutes.
