At its Nov. 20 meeting the Board of Public Works and Safety approved routine claims, a sellback payment totaling 778 hours for 2025, returned a lease deposit for 5 Star Technology, and granted a fee waiver for Indiana Real Estate Appraisal to use Room 212 for continuing-education classes.
Staff said the 778 sellback hours are down from roughly 1,028 last year and that most of the hours came from police and fire departments. The board approved the sellback in accordance with the city handbook and budget availability. Emily Keller asked that the lease deposit for 5 Star Technology be returned after the tenant vacated and completed move-out; the board approved returning the deposit.
On the waiver request, staff explained the city's usual waiver practice: fees are commonly waived for other municipalities, government entities, or youth-oriented programs. The board voted to waive Room 212 fees to allow the Indiana Real Estate Appraisal continuing-education classes on Jan. 14 and Jan. 21.
Next steps: staff will process the sellback payments, return the lease deposit to 5 Star Technology, and place the executed waiver on file.
