Muscatine County’s Board of Supervisors on Nov. 24 approved $969,828.99 in county claims and took a series of routine administrative actions, including authorizing a settlement and signing vendor contracts for jail copiers and a new county website.
The board voted by voice to adopt the claims dated Nov. 24, 2025, after an amendment to correct the claims amount was moved and seconded. Chair called for the ayes and the motion passed.
The board also authorized the chair to sign a settlement and release agreement involving County Attorney Jim Berry; Berry was not present at the meeting. "Obviously, Jim's not here right this second," the chair said before members moved and approved the agreement.
Auditor Tyvi Vanderlinden presented the fiscal year 2025 urban renewal report, telling the board the document was included in their packet and appeared in order; the board approved the report by voice vote.
Information Services Director Bill Riley summarized two vendor agreements that the board approved. Riley said the county will formalize a lease with Advanced Business Systems for two jail copiers that consolidates a prior monthly lease payment and separate usage/toner charges into a single monthly payment; he described the machines as high‑volume devices and said standard overage charges apply. He also presented a website development agreement with Neapolitan Labs, describing a project cost of $32,000 with annual hosting and support fees of $4,000, a kickoff call already held and an expected on‑site start in late January to meet a target go‑live of March 31.
The board approved the minutes of its Nov. 17 regular meeting and Nov. 18 special meeting, heard several committee reports and then adjourned. No public comments were recorded during the meeting.
What happens next: these approvals authorize staff to finalize the listed agreements and proceed with implementation steps described during the meeting; no contested votes or roll‑call tallies were recorded in the transcript.
