Hardin County Commissioners Court approved a series of routine administrative and procurement items during its Nov. 25 meeting, including the minutes of a Nov. 18 special meeting, the treasurer’s cash report, and payment of county bills and payroll transfers.

County Treasurer Deborah McWilliams asked the court to release registered claims totaling $2,098,144.06 and presented the county’s cash position, saying the county had $315,704.16 in its general checking account and $18,403,566.58 in a special money market for total cash funds of $19,086,870.04. The court accepted the treasurer’s request and cash statement by voice vote.

County Auditor Candice McKinney reported total expenditures and transfers of $1,712,181.91 for the period reported and gross payroll transfers totaling $2,285,950.89. Commissioners voted to approve payment of county bills as presented.

The court adopted Resolution 35-25 to cast 365 votes each for the named nominees to the CAB board as provided under section 6.03 of the property tax code. The court also adopted Resolution 36-25 recognizing the week of Dec. 7 as 'Tree of Angels' week at the request of Victims Assistance Center director Lisa Rocker.

On procurement and asset matters, commissioners authorized the purchasing agent to solicit sealed bids for the sale of old metal floors and approved the purchase of a 2025 Ford F-150 XLT (4WD) for the adult probation department at $52,950 under a cooperative purchasing program. The court approved removal and sale of a 2023 Chevrolet 1500 Z71 (VIN ending 4431) assigned to adult probation for $32,500 and removal from inventory.

Other contract and budget actions included a FY26 budget amendment moving $1,000 from the county attorney’s equipment rentals to the district attorney’s equipment rentals to cover a printer/copier transfer; the change was approved. The court approved Contract THMAS-23-92001 with Cofile for preservation of civil dockets and minute books for $28,840.35, with payment terms of 50% upon pickup and the balance on project completion to be paid from the district preservation fund.

A replat request for 2.674 acres in Beaumont Colony Central (Lot 51 → Lots 51A & 51B, Elijah Lewis survey, Abstract No. 662) was discussed but tabled after the county attorney raised notice/publication issues; the item will return to a future agenda after required notices are issued. The court set a public hearing for Dec. 9 at 10:00 a.m. to receive comments on J. L. Durell’s request for variances to county roadway frontage and setback regulations at 383 French Road in Longestown and instructed staff to send neighbor notice letters and post the hearing on the county website.

The court took all listed motions by voice vote with no recorded oppositions in the transcript and closed with community announcements, including the county’s annual Christmas tree lighting.

Next steps: items tabled for notice (the Beaumont Colony replat) will return after required publication; the variance hearing is scheduled for Dec. 9 at 10:00 a.m.
