Osceola County — The county approved the final right‑of‑way easement and the project plans for the I‑15 Bridge during its Oct. 14 session, allowing staff to prepare the project for bidding once FEMA obligates funds.

County engineering staff said the Poet Bridal easement is the last parcel needed for the project and that the owner signed required documents; the parcel is an easement only (no permanent right‑of‑way). The board approved the purchase with a motion from Supervisor Loring and support from DeBoer.

Staff described the bridge as a concrete slab structure approximately 150 feet long and 30 feet wide that will replace a damaged beam bridge. The scope restores channel length lost when the previous bridge washed out and reflects standard county bridge design. WHKS prepared the plans because FEMA is funding the work and the county’s workload required external support.

Supervisor Schulte moved to approve the plans; the motion passed by voice vote. Officials said bidding will begin after FEMA obligates the project funds and after the easement is recorded.
