Madison County commissioners voted to approve a consulting contract with Aegis to perform required bridge inspections, county staff said.
A county staff member told the board federal and state (NDOT) requirements mandate periodic bridge inspections. The contract before the board covers four phases of work over roughly 3½ to 4 years and totals $803,979.22. Staff said they completed the solicitation process and selected Aegis based on the selection team's evaluation.
An unidentified commissioner moved to approve the consulting contract (the motion referenced 'Lucas'), a colleague seconded, and commissioners voted in favor to execute the contract this calendar year so inspection work can begin as scheduled.
