Cass County commissioners adopt update to tourism commission ordinance

A commissioner moved to approve the ordinance as presented and the board approved it by voice vote.
The ordinance amends ordinance 2019-06 to modernize statutory references and allocation language tied to the innkeeper’s tax, which funds tourism-related activities and the tourism commission. The board did not discuss any substantive change to who serves on the commission or the commission’s duties during the hearing.
The adoption is final pending standard administrative processing; commissioners said staff will ensure the revised ordinance is posted and reflected in county code and online materials.
