Committee members reported about 120 attendees last year and recommended full funding; the council approved the appropriation by voice vote.
A representative for Kappa Delta Phi requested $1,500 to support distribution of Christmas meal baskets (the sorority reported helping more than 500 people last year and packaging baskets for distribution on Dec. 18–19). Committee members said 21 volunteer sorority members will prepare baskets and that leftover funds typically support utilities and household needs. The council voted to approve the $1,500 grant.
Both grants were presented as community-support items and approved during the meeting’s new‑business segment.
