Council approves two fire‑department appropriations for rescue equipment and squad completion

Resolution 2025-37 requests $65,000 in total to purchase trench‑rescue and structure‑collapse equipment ($35,000) and to finish Squad 211 using the non‑reverting line ($30,000), with the chassis purchased locally and final work done by a regional apparatus builder.
Both items were presented in public hearing (no public commenters stepped forward). Council members asked clarifying questions about nonreverting funds and project timing; Chief Betts confirmed the equipment and chassis procurement status and that squad delivery and program readiness are planned for Jan. 1, 2026. Motions were made, seconded and both resolutions were approved by voice vote.
