Rush County commissioners adopt Title VI plan, approve large payables and set multiple bid advertisements

A county staff member presented the Title VI plan, saying it "formalizes nondiscrimination based on how the county contracts using federal funding" and requires department-level recordkeeping and training for employees and contractors. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved signing the plan.
The board approved two large payables: a Nov. 17 voucher of $964,130.16 that staff said includes a jail bond payment of $609,000, and Nov. 21 payables totaling $266,589.95. Motions to approve both payments were made, seconded and carried.
