License panel approves one-night extension for Hotel Northampton on New Year's Eve

The Northampton License Commission on Wednesday approved a one-night change of hours allowing Monanto Enterprises LLC d/b/a Hotel Northampton to serve alcohol until 2 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2025.
Jeffrey Hesbrooks, representing the hotel, told the three-member panel the request is driven by a wedding and the hotel's rooftop New Year's event. "New Year's Eve at the hotel is a big event," Hesbrooks said, noting the hotel also operates its restaurants and an annual rooftop ball that typically draws a larger crowd.
Commissioners had no questions. A motion to approve the change of hours was made and seconded and passed by the commissioners present. Staff recorded the unanimous vote and the license will be updated for that single night only.
The extension applies only to the one date specified in the application, and the vote did not modify the license's general hours on other dates. The commission did not attach further conditions beyond standard event oversight and licensing requirements.
