Clerk Emerson told the committee that year‑to‑date 2025 receipts are 26.4% higher than last year, attributing a significant portion of the increase to Real ID and certified copy requests. He also said the treasurer held a tax sale Oct. 27 and that the clerk’s office is processing redemptions. Emerson announced an Elgin satellite office is expected to open mid‑next month at 2170 Pointe Boulevard and that the committee will receive an invitation to the open house when it is scheduled.
Committee members raised questions about voter roll verification tools (a member asked about the federal SAVE program); clerk staff replied that any federal changes would require state implementation and the county will await state direction. The meeting concluded after a motion and second to adjourn.
