The City of Bandera council approved the consent agenda, received a code enforcement update for September and October, and postponed a request to review two years of hotel occupancy tax (HOT) allocations to the first meeting in December.
At the start of the meeting the presiding officer asked that the minutes from the Oct. 14 regular meeting be approved. A motion was made by Debbie Breen and seconded by Jeff Flowers; the presiding officer announced the vote as "all in favor, none opposed." The minutes were approved.
During staff reports the presiding officer summarized the code enforcement counts for September and October: 178 total reported violations, 26 phone calls, 8 emails, 23 walk-in reports and 121 cases discovered by the city. Council members noted John (the code enforcement officer) was not present but that the data had been provided in council packets.
On agenda item 7b, Debbie Breen requested a review of HOT tax funds for the past two years after several business owners raised concerns. Council members agreed it would be prudent to wait for the economic development corporation (EDC) meeting and for year-end revenue figures to be final. Debbie moved to postpone the HOT tax discussion to the first December meeting; Jeff seconded and the council voted unanimously to postpone.
The council then announced it would move into closed session under the Texas Government Code.
