County staff asked the board to authorize amendment of the AECOM contract to finish architectural work for a planned museum at Greenfield and to use available museum grant funds to complete the design work.

Staff said the project is at roughly 35% architectural completion and that completing design documentation to 100% would enable future legislative, grant and fundraising opportunities. The county has approximately $6.4 million in the fund identified for the museum; staff estimated construction could range from about $8.5 million to $11 million depending on finish and gallery scope.

Supervisors moved, seconded and approved an amendment to the AECOM scope and authorized $4.56 million from the museum grant fund to complete the work. Staff emphasized that the $6 million enabling legislation had been modified to allow the project to be sited on county‑owned Greenfield property rather than the originally proposed town location.

The board’s vote funds completion of design documents; a separate funding decision would be needed to build the museum.
