Parks & Recreation director Cassie told the Brimfield trustees on Nov. 25 that she submitted a written resignation and requested that her last working day be Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. She said she will remain available to transfer duties and finalize outstanding projects through that date.
Trustees praised Cassie’s contributions: she led cleanup and development projects (including Messner Acres, a 27-acre conservation area conveyed by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy), organized community events such as the Hometown Christmas (Nov. 30) and the Tour of Lights, and coordinated programs including senior fitness and scrapbooking classes. Cassie said AEDs had been removed from athletic fields for the winter and outlined duties that will need reassignment (facility rentals, Tour of Lights management, social media posting and prize delivery).
Trustee Mike moved to accept Cassie’s resignation and the motion passed by roll call. Cassie said she will be available through Dec. 12 to support the transfer of duties and to assist with managing rentals and the holiday lighting contest if the board chooses to continue those programs.
